First I would like to say thank you to the Temple Hills Community Center. Their hard work and sacrifice were the main effort that made the tournament possible. Without the center, there would have been no tournament!
I would also like to thank all of the participants and spectators at the first tournament hosted by my club, Cecil Ryu Taekwondo. While we had no takers for Cecil Ryu Sparring this time, we did have a few people who showed up and gave it their all in Forms and Traditional Sparring. The styles of Tangsoodo and Taekwondo were in full effect! All ages, belt levels and both genders were in the house. This was a small but intense and challenging competition. The tenents of Taekwondo, Courtesy, Integrity, Self-Control and Indomidable Spirit, shined in all of our medal winners.
A special shout out and thank you goes out to the teachers, students and masters who lent their support and/or represented in Forms and Traditional Sparring from the following organizations:
One more personal thanks to my fellow Judokas at College Park Judo and Maryland Judo Association. Their example gave me the courage to finally attempt to run a tournament.
Here are the results of the tournament. If I have omitted you or made an error in the results, please send an e-mail to cecilwashington at Yahoo dot com.
